February’s coming up which means it’s nearly time for our birthday!
To celebrate being one year older and not much wiser, we thought we’d get together with friends, family and a few of our favourite breweries and do what we do best.
So we’re working on six collaboration beers with our family (the teams at Tiny Rebel Brewery Bar, Cardiff and Newport) and a few selected friends - Moor, Fierce and Siren!
The guys in our bars are always coming up with madcap ideas for brews, and they have not failed to deliver on this project!
The guys at Tiny Rebel Cardiff got straight into an idea for a popular fruit soft drink inspired sour ale called Cheeky V which will be on keg.
The Tiny Rebel Newport team have immortalised their colleagues Tyron (Ty) and Chi with a Lychee and Sea Buckthorn Session Pale Ale on cask, named - appropriately - Tai Chi.
And the Brewery Bar staff are working on a kegged Honey, Oat and Banana Wheat Ale. A mouth watering combination that we’re calling There’s Always Honey in the Banana Stand.
That’s a great mix of styles from our fam - that’s why we love ‘em!
That diversity continues with our collabs with friends, each of which seems perfectly apt for the collaborating brewery.
With Moor, we’re actually working on a three-way collaboration. We’ve employed the help of Bristol’s Canton Tea Company to help us find the perfect Oolong for tea-infused English Pale on cask called Can't We All Just Get Oolong.
The guys from Fierce have quite rightly earned a reputation for excellently balanced beers with a flavoured twist. From Cranachan Killer to Cafe Racer, they know how to put fruit and coffee into beer. So we’re going with both, with Orange Mocha Frappe Stout. This will be bottled, with some kegs available for good measure.
And with our friends at Siren we’re working on something TOTALLY different. Get this - we’re going to brew a beer with loads and loads of HOPS! Though pastry stouts and fruity bangers are tasty as hell, we can’t forget that hops are the reason we do what we do.
Both us and Siren love hop forward beers, and we’re both pretty good at brewing them, so we’re keeping it simple but going all out. We’re going for a double IPA which we’re calling Didgeridank! Like the Fierce collab, there will be bottles and kegs available!
Keep an eye out for more info on what we’ll be doing for our Birthday in the next few weeks!
