International Collabs

Over the past few weeks, Gazz has been on a couple of overseas work trips, and when a brewer goes travelling, you can expect a collab. Or two. Or three.

First up is one we brewed over in Berlin with our good friends at BRLO. We chose to brew an enormously juicy 6% ABV Hopfenweizen in a bit of a New England style. A whopping 25g/litre headed by Citra BBC and Eukanot BBC gives the beer delicious tropical juice notes which pair brilliantly with the fruity yeast flavours.

We’re hoping to have the guys from BRLO over to Newport for a return leg soon, but for now you can find very limited stock on our online shop - Buy Now!

Next up was a small brew with the guys at Wheaty Brewing Corps in Adelaide! As part of his Tap Take Over tour down under, Gazz stopped by Adelaide’s Wheatsheaf Hotel - a pub that has our beer in regularly. Back in 2014 they bought a 600L brewing kit and have been experimenting with one offs for a while. So they invited Gazz to join them.

Between them, they developed a recipe for a Marshmallow Milkshake Blackberry Stout, hopped with a bit of Magnum and brewed to 8.5%. Unfortunately we won’t get to try any of this here in Wales due to the small brew length, which is a huge shame. A huge, marshmallowy, sweet, blackberry, milkshakey shame.

Finally, a very strange creature indeed. We paired up with one of Australia’s most exciting breweries - Kaiju!

We love everything about Kaiju! Because we have so much in common. The colourful artwork, the love of hop forward beers and the inspiration taken from 80s films and video games. Kaiju is Japanese for strange beast so that’s exactly what we brewed. Named Ddraig Cangarw (Welsh for Dragon Kangaroo) it’s a 6.6% Coconut Porter with loads of tropical fruit added to it!

If you’re in Australia, look out for it!
