Land of the Rising Bear

We are big in Japan!

Oh yes. As the beady-eyed will know, we’ve made friends 5998 miles away in Tokyo who are more than happy to accept copious amounts of Tiny Rebel. Even better, we were entered into the International Beer Cup 2014 at the Great Japan Beer Festival in Yokohama last month. There are ‘only’ around 200 craft breweries in Japan, but there is no doubt that the Japanese are just as mad for awesome beer as we are in the west, with up to 7,000 people attending the festival over 3 days.

It’s all very well being at the party, but to become the centre of it is something we didn’t imagine! We shipped four beers out there, and each were entered into the following categories and here is what we won:

Dirty Stop Out: Bronze – Stouts
Hadouken: Bronze – Indian Pale Ale

Out of 327 beers made by 98 breweries from 16 countries, we’re really chuffed with our 3rd places!
