Leeds International Beer Festival 2018

It’s nearly time for one of our favourite events on the beer festival calendar and we’ve gone ALL OUT this year.

Leeds International Beer Festival is simply one of the best beer fests in the world. This year promises to be even better than ever, with awesome features like the Maine Beer Box. We’ve sold out of beer every time we’ve attended, so this time we’re taking loads of beer in a bid to ensure that doesn’t happen again.

How much beer is loads of beer? Well, over the 4 days we’ll have 20 beers pouring!

We’ll have six lines, 5 rotating through specials, one-offs, and seasonal stuff, and one line dedicated to Clwb Tropicana because we know how much y’all love it.

We’ll have a “Session” Line rotating between Dutty, Cali, RISE and Beer Money Inc. Not session strength necessarily, but not the extreme flavours and madcap barrel aging stuff you’d expect to find at a beer fest. If you fancy something a bit more day-to-day, we’ll have something for you on this line.

We’ll have a Milkshake line, rotating between our Citra and Mosaic Milkshakes, for if you want something with bags of single hop flavours and a nice sweet aftertaste.

Then we’ll have a sour line for all you sour fans. Cheeky V, Rhubarb and Custard Sour and Frambuzi will rotate here, so if you’re feeling something tart and fruity, you know where to head.

A Dark line will see the Imperial Chocolate Puft, Stay Puft and our collab with Fierce Beer Orange Mocha Frapp Stout rotating.

And finally the Specials line will feature an assortment of our most special releases.

6pm Thursday will see the official launch of our latest brew Piñata Colada - a Piña Colada Pale Ale stuffed with creamy coconut and delicious pineapple, so be there to be among the first people in the country to try it. (If it goes before you get to try it, don’t fret! We’ll whack some more on the Milkshake line once Citra and Mosaic are drained!)

When that’s gone, we’ll whack on a keg of El Hefe, our collab with Berlin’s BRLO. It’s a super drinkable hefewiezen that only got a very limited UK release because it was so popular in Germany.

After that we’ve got our Brut IPA - I am Brut. Brut’s are all the rage but ours has the best name.

Friday at 6pm we’ll be bringing out the big guns! The last keg of LOCK STOCK will hit the specials tap - the 11th of 11 kegs of this incredible brett bourbon barrel aged imperial IPA. 10 went to BrewDog for our National Showcase and it was VERY well received. The first release from our super top secret and incredible barrel aging project that we haven’t told anyone about. We’re expecting this to go quickly despite it’s 13% ABV.

When it’s gone we’ve got Double Bubble, our super tasty Champagne DIPA. Bags of hops and buckets of champagne yeast make this a beer better than bubbly. Come and toast with us. We’re not sure what for, but come and do it anyway.

Saturday at 6pm we’ll have something super special. Fresh from kegging and shipped up especially, a week before we officially launch it, we’ll have a keg of our latest collab brew. The guys from Loka Polly came down to us recently and we brewed a Kir Royale Pale Ale. This is a very special preview and will probably be the freshest new beer at the fest, so come try it Saturday evening before it disappears!

When it’s gone, we’ve got a keg of Star Boy, a 7.9% DIPA packed with New Zealand hops. Resiny, but with subtle fruit and spice notes, it’s both big and drinkable.

So there you have it. Our epic plan for an epic festival. Come over to the bar and say hi to Arran and Andrew! And don’t forget these key times:

Thursday 6pm - Pinata Colada launch

Friday 6pm - Lock Stock (Very special edition)

Saturday 6pm - Kir Royale preview (Loka Polly collab)
